Haywire Art Collective

Art and Agriculture share a crucial connection that has inspired the formation of the Haywire Art Collective, a Collective of Saskatchewan local Artists created to support one another in their artistic endeavors while connecting its viewers to the land and diverse agriculture in Saskatchewan. By promoting healthy food systems through artistic expression, we preserve our heritage and cultural identity in the ever changing agricultural landscape.  The arts build awareness of our world by helping us visualize our relationship to the plants, animals, and other human beings that make our lives possible.  The arts strengthen the lines between food production and consumption and research shows that a healthy food tourism movement develops and sustains regional identities, encourages agricultural diversification, enhances environmental awareness and increases the social and cultural benefits associated with connection to traditional heritage.

The Haywire Art Collective is a hub that creates networking opportunities, skill development, gives access to creative workshops, art talks & seminars, art exhibitions and fun events. Membership gives artists the opportunity to be involved in the Haywire Farm Festival through the festival’s live art exhibit which showcases select local artists  create a live art installation during the festival weekend.  Their artwork becomes a permanent fixture at the Haywire farm to be enjoyed by festival goers for years to come. Membership is free.  Follow our Art Collective on Instagram & Facebook

Lisa-Marie Schiller – Landscape and Portrait Painter

I’m Lisa-Marie Schiller, and I enjoy painting our prairie landscape as well as the people and animals that make it so amazing. My home studio is located in Carrot River, Saskatchewan, where I’ve lived with my family for the last 22 years.
As we’re surrounded by lush farmland and the boreal forest, I have found that there are gorgeous opportunities all around us for painting inspiration. My latest paintings are a deep dive into different colors and looser brushstrokes. I’m working towards a collection of prairie landscapes in vibrant, unexpected colors as well as some abstract realism of one of my favorite subjects-dogs.
As a self-taught artist, I’ve always looked for opportunities to learn from others, so I’m always taking classes and watching different people’s techniques. Although I’ve had the privilege of showing my art in some galleries and shows in Saskatchewan my most joyful experience was when I had the chance to share my knowledge by teaching some private art classes. When I’m not painting or working with my hubby at our knife shop, you’ll find me having a glass of wine with friends and probably being sarcastic.
Thanks for checking out my art and feel free to contact me if you have any questions!

Lorne Oliver

Lorne Oliver, aka APSprayArts, is a spray paint artist based in Domremy, SK. After self publishing 7 novels, he needed a new creative outlet and found spray paint art online. He dove into it the old school way of studying those that knew what they were doing and learning as much as he could, which he still continues to do. Painting erupted an old desire to draw, paint, learn and create visually. His wife, children and grandson believe in him and inspire everything he creates.
