Haywire Festival:2024 Year in Review (and What’s Next!)

Hey Haywire family,

Before we get too busy dreaming up the next festival, we wanted to take a second to look back at the year we just shared.
And what a year it’s been.

In 2024, Haywire wasn’t just a festival — it became a movement.
More music. More workshops. More laughter. More muddy boots and full hearts.

Thanks to you — our artists, our volunteers, our sponsors, and our community — Haywire grew bigger and brighter than ever before.
(The Prince Albert Daily Herald even called us “eager to welcome visitors” and highlighted our expanding lineup of live music, workshops, kids’ activities, and local vendors!)

Big News: We’re Officially a Not-for-Profit!

This year also marks something huge for us:
Haywire is officially a Not-for-Profit!

Why does that matter?
Because it means every ticket sold, every lemonade poured, every handmade necklace bought at the market goes right back into building a better Haywire for next year.
It protects who we are — a festival built by community, for community.

Plus, it opens the door for grants and sponsorships that help us dream even bigger.

Why Are Festivals Like Haywire Not-for-Profit Anyway?

Because festivals like ours aren’t just about throwing a party (even if it’s a pretty great one!).
They’re about creating space for:

🎨 Artists to shine — giving them a real platform to be seen and celebrated.
🌾 Community roots to grow deeper — keeping Saskatchewan’s rural traditions alive and thriving.
💛 Young minds to be inspired — like when kids watched a live mural being spray painted onto the barn this summer, wide-eyed and dreaming big. (Shoutout to NortheastNOW for capturing that moment!)
🌱 Sustainable, heart-led growth — where every step forward stays true to our rural spirit.

Festivals like Haywire are for the people. Every dollar raised builds more magic — not just for today, but for tomorrow.

Why Haywire Matters (And Always Will)

paNOW said it best last year — Haywire isn’t just an event; it’s a celebration of everything that makes Northeast Saskatchewan strong: creativity, culture, music, farming, and pure small-town heart.

From more than 25 workshops and over 30 live performances (thanks, SaskCulture!) to kids camps and nature programs, Haywire offers something you can’t just find anywhere else — a place where you don’t just watch the magic; you become part of it.

Where We’re Headed Next

Looking ahead to 2025 and beyond, we’ve got big dreams:

🌟 Restoring the barn into an even better gathering place.
🌟 Expanding to a full three-day festival.
🌟 Hosting more workshops, music, and chances to connect.
🌟 Welcoming bigger acts — while keeping our boots firmly planted in local soil.

But truthfully?
We can’t do it without you.

If you love what Haywire stands for, come be part of it:
Volunteer. Sponsor. Show up. Tell a friend.
Be the magic.

Thank you for making 2024 unforgettable.
Thank you for believing in a little farm with a big dream.
Thank you for keeping Haywire’s heart beating strong.

See you in 2025 — muddy boots, full hearts, arms wide open. 🐴🎶🌾
